Family Butterfly Night
April 17, 2000

For family night this week we made butterflies. Mama cut out butterflies from heavy white construction paper. Daddy cut out shapes and patterns to paste on to the butterfly wings. Miranda and Josiah used crayons to color the wings with all sorts of colors and then glued colored construction paper shapes on to finish their designs.

The most difficult was the glue. It seemed that everything Josiah touched stuck to him. And then Miranda must not have eaten enough dinner because she kept trying to snack on the crayons.

But maybe this was really just part of the creative process, because once she had bitten off some of the crayon and chewed it up sufficiently, she spit it out on her butterfly adding to the design.
